5. Discount Codes, Coupons & Ebates

DISCOUNT CODES

I have several sites that I will check (and I receive emails from Coupon Cabin daily) that let me know what new coupons and or codes are “HOT”.  Also, you can also type in your Web Browser what you are looking for (i.e. Kohl’s 30% off discount code).  You will usually get several sites …BE CAUTIOUS of ones that say AD beside them.  Many will try to get you to sign up with them, I do not do that because I then start getting A LOT of unwanted emails.

Always check these sites BEFORE making a purchase!
Coupon Cabin - http://www.couponcabin.com/  (note this does not have https://www since you are not putting any personal info in does not hurt)
               Tjoos  http://www.tjoos.com/
               Retail me not   http://www.retailmenot.com/

COUPONS

If we are going out to eat, I will sometimes look to see if there are any discounts or coupons available.  These can be found by typing the name of the restaurant into the Web Browser, you will get all kinds of “options” pop again be careful and do not give out your email address unless you want to receive bunches of emails.  Many times your BEST option will be the “OFFICIAL WEB SITE” for the restaurant that you are looking for!   Also many of the OFFICAL web sites will let you sign up which will give you a coupon, discount or a Birthday surprise.
There are also sites that have Grocery Coupons that you may find a use for.  Some of them require you to sign up and download there info before you can print…I TRY to avoid them!!  Here are a couple of sites you can try.

There are DISCOUNTS for car rentals, Hotels, vacations and about anything else you can think of so just go to your Web Browser and type in what you are looking for!!

Some sites now allow you to download coupons to your smart phone so you do not have to worry about printing, paper and ink!!!

This is a “club” that you do have to sign up for.  It is FREE to sign up and you DO need to give them some personal information as they will be sending you a CHECK quarterly for what you have earned by going through the site.  Also many times when you sign up you can choose a gift card free just for starting.  You can also access using a link from a current customer ----here is mine! (http://www.ebates.com/rf.do?referrerid=ci06o%2FjOigM7UeTiYv3mQQ%3D%3D%26eeid=26471)    which will get you both a discount!  Since I have joined in 2011, they have sent me $510 in checks!!

Most of the stores are ones that you are familiar with (i.e. Kohl’s, Lowe’s Sears, Avon and Macy’s) but some are smaller less known stores.  The beauty of this site is, you can go on line and order something say from Lowe’s (going through Ebates), go to the store and pick it up and they credit your Ebates account or you can have items shipped to you.

Always go on the EBATES site as MANY times they have ADDITIONAL available discounts for the stores!!

It will ask you at the time you sign up if you want to download the EBATES TOOL bar…I did although it can be considered malware by some programs.  It makes it very easy to use and if you have this downloaded GENERALLY when you are shopping it will “blink” if there is a discount or the store is a participant in the program.  You can CLICK on the EBATES and it will tell you that it has been activated and you do not need to do anything else.  Which is true BUT some of the sites will not allow you to use other discounts if this is activated so, if you cannot use a discount, you have to decide which is more valuable to you!

If you are using Ebates, you should also note that on your “tracking” information on your purchases.  You will always receive an email when funds are added to your account.  Some are added quickly some not, so if it does not show up within a week, you can get on the Ebates site, go to HELP. This DOES require you to (Cut and Paste) the email verification that was sent by the store.  Additional information on CUTTING and PASTING in that section.  You will also need the ticket #, which can be found on the ebates.com site CASH BACK ACTIVITY then SHOPPING TRIPS.
