4. Individual Shopping Sites

INDIVIDUAL SHOPPING SITES

Many of these sites will want you to sign up for Daily/Special Deals (update times vary so you may want to look at their FAQ section- usually at the bottom of the page).  This will cause you to get LOTS of email!!!

Always check for other discounts BEFORE finalizing your purchase (see DISCOUNT CODES, COUPONS and EBATES in those sections)

SUGGESTION – create a separate email for this use (make sure you add it to wherever you pick your email up).  I use OUTLOOK to pick up my email so it allows you to set up lots of different accounts and it pulls them all at once, so once set up you do not have to continually log in.

Some of the sites that I like to keep under my SHOPPING BOOKMARK, and click on daily are

http://www.woot.com – shipping CURRENTLY is $5.00 for entire purchase.  This site occasional has “WOOT OFFS” this is when there is low prices, low quantities and as an item sells out another is posted

http://www.dailysteals.com (can be slow to ship)

http://www.homedepot.com (then click on the TODAY ONLY SAVINGS).  USUALLY FREE SHIPPING

http://www.sears.com (additional discounts and SYW shop your way rewards and benefits)

http://www.13deals.com/store/ and http://www.thatdailydeal.com/ are “sister” sites that in TN

https://www.tanga.com offers a good variety and if you sign up your email, will OCCASSIONALLY offer free shipping!

Once you find some sites that you like, BOOKMARK (see BOOKMARK Section), and then sign up for daily updates/accounts.   Sites change from time to time but beware that you should check the site out if it is not an established site….more on that later.  I have had issues with sites that suddenly for several days were unable to “hit”, if that is the case and you have ordered from them and you CAN NOT seem to get in contact (via email or phone), you need to contact your bank/credit card to put in a dispute.  As a reminder you only have a short period of time to do this once the charge hits your card so verify your credit card statements!  See “What if I have a Problem” Section.

Since we are on the subject of credit cards and payments, I usually use ONE SPECIFIC Credit Card** for online ordering or my PayPal account.  Pay Pal accounts are set up and you attach a credit/debit card or checking account.  This adds a layer of security because when making a purchase, you will be redirected (automatically) to the PayPal site and will have to log in there.  I have NEVER had an issue with a PayPal payment and they send you an Email IMMEDIATELY when the PayPal account is used!  Info below on how to establish a PayPal account.

** in the event you are buying from site that has their own credit card and you get added benefits for using store card…consider it!

I DO NOT have sites “store” my credit card information (with the exception of PayPal)…Sites will usually ask you if you want to store for later use.

HINT – Sites are NOT permitted to charge your CREDIT/DEBIT CARD UNTIL the item is being shipped!  If you check your credit cards on line daily…and you see a charge and have NOT received a shipping notice from the site, contact them!!!  Some sites ship/charge quickly some takes several days. More on tracking later….

Some of the sites will allow you to STACK (use more than one code or coupon)!
